2019 Reads for the Rest of Us august. The Feminist Know-It-All: she is known by you.

She can’t be stood by you. Good thing she’s not right here! Alternatively, this column by sex and women’s studies librarian Karla Strand will amplify tales associated with the creation, access, usage and conservation of real information by women and girls around the globe; share revolutionary tasks and initiatives that give attention to information, literacies, libraries and much more; and, needless to say, speak about all the publications.

Every month, we provide Ms. visitors with a summary of brand new publications being published by authors from historically underrepresented teams. The aims among these listings are threefold: I would like to do my component in the disruption of what happens to be the appropriate “norm” when you look at the guide globe for much too long—white, cis, hetersexual, male; i wish to amplify amazing functions by article writers who’re ladies, womxn, Ebony, native, Latinx, APIA, worldwide, LGBIA+, TGNC, queer, disabled, fat, immigrant, Muslim, neurodivergent, sex-positive or of other historically marginalized identities—you know, the remainder of us–and i do want to challenge and encourage you all to get, borrow and read them!
